PMCSA AMR panel members

One Health Aotearoa investigators were contributors to the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor’s report, Kotahitanga: Uniting Aotearoa against infectious disease and antimicrobial resistance, which was publicly released late last week.

Six of the 10 members of the expert panel are One Health Aotearoa investigators including co-directors Professors Nigel French and David Murdoch. The other investigators involved were Dr Kristin Dyet, Dr Sharon Gardiner, Professor Jack Heinemann and Associate Professor Siouxsie Wiles.

The report details the infectious disease and antimicrobial resistance challenges facing Aotearoa New Zealand across human, animal, plant, and environmental health. It includes a set of clear and impactful recommendations from our panel of ten experts. If adopted, these evidence-based recommendations will improve the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders and enable Aotearoa to play its part in global efforts to keep our medicines working for as long as possible.

The PMCSA’s office released a video to go with the launch of the report which features the panel members:
